Echo Amphitheater is a natural rock formation located along Highway 84 between Abiquiú and Chama in northern New Mexico. The bowl-shaped canyon is famous for its amazing acoustics, where sounds bounce and echo back from the surrounding walls. A short paved trail leads from the parking area to the base of the formation, making it very accessible to see. Echo Amphitheater is a scenic stop for photography, picnicking, stretching your legs, and yes, it really does echo!
