Exploring La Cieneguilla Petroglyphs in Santa Fe

Just outside Santa Fe, this short hike leads to a volcanic ridge covered in hundreds of ancient petroglyphs carved into dark basalt rock. The site is quiet, exposed, and easy to overlook, but the markings left by ancestors of Pueblo people make it feel like one of the most meaningful hidden places near the city.
