Terrain Overview

Sipapu is a smaller, family-friendly ski area with 40+ runs spread across 215 acres. The mountain has a good mix of terrain, with beginner areas near the base, longer intermediate and advanced trails, a few expert runs, and terrain parks. The biggest draw is the affordability, I have seen lift tickets for as low as $20 on weekdays, making it one of the most budget-friendly ski areas in New Mexico. The compact layout and great price make Sipapu especially approachable for families, beginners, and groups with different ability levels.

Facilities & Services

The base area includes ski and snowboard rentals, lessons, a ticket office, dining, and a general store. Sipapu also offers lodging, including historic lodge rooms, suites, and cabins. Facilities are simple but everything needed for a ski trip is located close to the lifts. Tickets, rentals, and lessons should be reserved online before arriving.

Getting There

Sipapu is located along NM 518 near Vadito, about 20 miles southeast of Taos. From Taos, follow NM 518 south through the mountains directly to the resort. The drive is scenic but includes narrow and winding sections.
