Angel Fire Ski Resort

Terrain Overview

Angel Fire Resort is one of New Mexico’s largest ski areas, with a mix of wide groomed runs, technical skiing, terrain parks, and beginner terrain spread across both sides of the mountain.

The front side has much of the resort’s beginner and intermediate terrain, while the back side offers steeper runs and glades for more experienced skiers and snowboarders.

With more than 2,000 feet of vertical drop, Angel Fire has long runs by New Mexico standards and enough terrain for a full day or multi-day ski trip. The resort also offers night skiing on select evenings during the season.

Facilities & Services

Angel Fire has a full-service base area with ski and snowboard rentals, lessons, guest services, lockers, dining, and lodging nearby.

Food and restrooms are available both at the base and near the summit, making it easy to spend most of the day on the mountain without returning to town.

The resort also has several terrain parks, extensive snowmaking, and one of the larger ski-school operations in New Mexico.

Getting There

Angel Fire Resort is located in the village of Angel Fire in the Moreno Valley of northern New Mexico.

The ski area is about 40 minutes east of Taos via US-64 and is also accessible from the east through Cimarron and Eagle Nest.

Winter storms can make the mountain highways and passes around Angel Fire snowy or icy, so check road conditions before making the drive.
